Après la défaite du Président Issa Hayatou, son Secrétaire General, Hicham El Amrani vient à son tour de quitter l’instance faitière du football Africain. Après avoir passé 8 ans au sein de la Confédération Africaine de Football, Hicham El Amrani remercie la famille du foot pour l’opportunité extraordinaire qu’il lui a permis de contribuer au développement du Football Africain.

Madame, Monsieur le Secrétaire Général,
C’est avec un grand regret que je vous informe que je quitte aujourd’hui mon poste de Secrétaire Général de la CAF, après 8 années passées au sein de la Confédération Africaine de Football.
Je souhaite ainsi remercier la CAF, la FIFA, les Confédérations, les Associations Nationales, les partenaires commerciaux, et l’ensemble des membres de la famille du Football Africain pour l’opportunité extraordinaire de m’avoir permis de contribuer au développement du Football Africain.
Ces huit dernières années ont été merveilleuses, gratifiantes et me laisseront des souvenirs impérissables. La CAF fera toujours partie de mon cœur, et le football Africain me sera pour toujours très cher.
Je remercie vivement le Président sortant M. Hayatou et son Comité Exécutif pour le soutien et la confiance dont j’ai pu bénéficié, et je remercie infiniment l’ensemble de l’administration de la CAF. Sans mes collègues aucune réalisation n’aurait pu voir le jour. Je suis fier d’eux, il sont et resteront ma deuxième famille.
J’en profite aussi pour souhaiter au Président de la CAF M. Ahmad ainsi qu’aux nouveaux membres du Comité Exécutif tout le succès pour le futur, avec l’espoir que le football Africain continuera d’atteindre de nouveaux sommets.

Dear Secretary General,
It is with great regret that I hereby inform you that I am leaving today my position of CAF Secretary General, after 8 years spent within the Confederation of African Football.
I would like here to thank CAF, FIFA, the Confederations, the National Associations, the commercial partners, and the entire African football family for the extraordinary opportunity that allowed me to contribute to the development of African Football.
These last eight years have been wonderful, enriching, and will provided with life-lasting memories. CAF will always remain part of my heart, and African football will always be very dear to me.
I would like to thank very much as well the outgoing President M. Hayatou and his Executive Committee for the support and the confidence given, and I would like to thank infinitely the entire CAF administration. Without my colleagues, no project or work would have seen the day. I am proud of them, and they are and will always be my second family.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish CAF President M. Ahmad as well as the new Executive Committee members the best of success for the future, with the hope that African football will keep reaching new heights.
